MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER – CAMPBELLFIELD VIC

As the business grows, they are now seeking an experienced, proficient, and qualified Mechanical Design Engineer who will ensure delivery of high-quality designs and help develop the next generation of industrial lifting and handling equipment.
Tenure: The role is full-time and ongoing.
Salary: A great salary is offered in the range of $75k to $85k plus superannuation per annum.

• Design and develop products, equipment, machines, assemblies, and systems, including detailed manufacturing drawings, 3D models, and visualisations using CAD (SolidWorks or AutoCAD).
• Perform engineering calculations, structural analysis, and tolerance studies.
• Collaborate with fabrication and installation teams to ensure design feasibility and accuracy.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation including drawings, BOMs, and operation manuals.
• Develop testing procedures and set up test apparatus and equipment to evaluate and build performance and reliability reports of the mechanical systems and identify faults, wear and tear issues, etc.
• Ensure designs comply with Australian engineering standards, safety regulations, and industry codes.
• Engage with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to refine project requirements and provide engineering support.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in design practices and manufacturing efficiency.
• Maintain proper documentation of design reports, test reports, project progress reports, site inspections, meeting minutes, etc. and communicate effectively across stakeholders, team, and client.
• Coordinate and collaborate across teams to plan and schedule projects, estimate costs and resources, oversee equipment procurement, and ensure milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
• Provide technical guidance to team members like technicians, technologists etc.
