Job Description For further development of our Engineering Center we are hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop automotive interior HMI devices —including mechatronic switch modules and tactile control assemblies. You will participate mechanical design from concept through production release, with a focus on precision mechanisms, packaging, tolerance/GD&T, materials, environmental robustness, and DFM for high-volume automotive programs. You’ll collaborate with HW, SW, industrial design, validation, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to develop products that meet high automotive compliance. Key responsibilities: Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for automotive interior HMI devices. Create and maintain 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and GD&T; manage BOMs and revisions in PDM/PLM. Define critical dimensions and perform tolerance stack-up analyses. Participate in design reviews and risk analyses (support DFMEA); maintain requirements traceability and verification status. Drive DFM/DFA for high-volume production (injection molding, stamping, machining, overmolding, ultrasonic welding/heat staking, laser marking, adhesives, EMC/ESD considerations). Support prototype builds and pre-series samples; contribute to DV and PV planning and execution; troubleshoot issues and implement design improvements through EC Qualifications Mechanical Engineering Degree; Experience in the design and development of electromechanical products. Proficiency in 3D CAD (CATIA preferred). Strong 2D drawing and GD&T skills (experience with plastic part detailing is a plus). Hands-on troubleshooting skills with prototypes and production builds. Knowledge of automotive product development standards and processes. Working knowledge of polymer part design, processing, and assembly. Professional working proficiency in English (conversational and technical). Self-driven and proactive; a strong team player within design and cross-functional teams.
