MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ownership and delivery of projects
• Take system, structural and functional requirements from the product team specification and deliver the required detailed solution.
• Innavative design solution generation for New Product Introductions, service fixes and product improvements.
• Ensure the product, system design, meets all legislation, customer requirements, and system cost targets.
• Design detailing, accurate BOM compilation and drawing release.
• Prototype build support and testing
• Co-ordinating with other parts of the engineering team as required.
• Failure investigation and analysis, including introduction of containment and countermeasures.
• Identification and implementation of cost reduction opportunities.
• Adhere to company policies regarding statutory obligations and Health & Safety requirements.
• Adhere to company ISO9001 Quality Management System and any future management systems.
• Structured work approach and ability to complete within pre-set timeframes.
• Any other duties as required by management to support business needs.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• A passion for engineering and a desire to be ‘hands-on’ is essential
• Degree qualified in a mechanical engineering or similar discipline.
• Possess effective communication skills, oral and written, enabling them to interact with a wide variety of team members of various levels of the company hierarchy.
• 3D CAD system operation experience
• A sound grasp of engineering principles.
• Enthusiastic, self-starting, and Pro-active.
• Experience of working or willingness to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
