Your new role:

We’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team and play a key role in delivering innovative automation and mechanical solutions from concept through to commissioning.

Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, operations and customers, you’ll turn ideas into practical, cost-effective designs that can be manufactured, installed and delivered to a high standard.

What you’ll be doing

  • Developing creative mechanical concepts and engineering solutions to meet customer requirements
  • Taking ownership of designs from concept through to detailed design and manufacture
  • Creating 3D CAD models, manufacturing and assembly drawings and parts lists
  • Working closely with manufacturing and operations to ensure designs are practical and delivered smoothly
  • Applying Safety in Design, engineering standards and quality processes
  • Supporting installation, commissioning, customer buy-off and site activities
  • Working with suppliers and purchasing teams to achieve cost-effective solutions
  • Preparing concept, quotation and engineering documentation
  • Providing ongoing technical support throughout the equipment lifecycle
  • Working collaboratively with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to solve problems and deliver the right solutio


 What you’ll bring

  • A formal qualification in Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronic Engineering or similar, or significant relevant design/manufacturing experience
  • Strong experience with Inventor, SolidWorks or a similar CAD platform
  • Experience in mechanical and automation engineering – heavy industry experience is highly regarded
  • A strong understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and automation systems
  • Good understanding of DFM (design for manufacture) and material selection
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a creative, practical and detail-focused approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work confidently with customers and internal teams
  • A proactive, solutions-focused and collaborative approachf you enjoy taking a concept from an idea on the screen to a working piece of equipment on the floor, we’d love to hear from you.
