Job Description We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our on-site team working on advanced maritime lighting systems for submarines. This role is part of a high-profile project in delivering cutting-edge solutions for naval platforms. You will contribute to the design, development, and refinement of mechanical components, ensuring high standards of functionality, reliability, and manufacturability. Location: Aberdeen On Site: Yes Clearance: None Experience Level: Mid - Level Key Responsibilities: Develop and refine mechanical designs for submarine lighting systems. Produce accurate technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers and systems integrators. Support prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical components. Ensure designs meet stringent naval and safety standards. Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles to optimise component production. Qualifications Required Skills: 5–10 years’ experience in mechanical design. Proven experience designing complex mechanical systems, ideally for maritime applications. Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or equivalent). Experience creating production-ready technical drawings and documentation. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively on high-profile projects. Required Qualifications: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience. Desirable Skills: Previous experience working on naval or submarine platforms. Exposure to lighting systems, electro-mechanical integration, or defence projects. Experience working on-site within a project delivery team. Additional Information Why join us?
