Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for preparing detailed, accurate, and complete engineering drawings based on specifications from sales and development orders. This role involves designing new products, improving existing designs, and supporting manufacturing and customer needs through technical expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in machine design.
  • Proficiency in designing bearing assemblies, rotating equipment, and process machinery.
  • Experience with ANSYS for FEA and Autodesk Inventor for 3D modeling.
  • Solid understanding of vibration principles in rotating machinery.
  • Familiarity with materials, fabrication methods, bearing selection, pneumatics, hydraulics, and power transmission systems.
  • Strong critical thinking and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Design new models, mechanisms, and product adaptations.
  • Investigate and implement design modifications to improve product performance.
  • Ensure designs meet requirements for proportions, stress, speed, weight, form, fit, and function.
  • Perform calculations to size components accurately and predict their operational lifespan.
  • Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate and optimize designs.
  • Perform vibration analysis to validate designs and troubleshoot field issues.
  • Modify designs in response to manufacturing feedback and facilitate production processes.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all engineering drawings.
  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for order structuring.
  • Verify the accuracy of data for all structured orders.
  • Revise drawings as needed to maintain an up-to-date and accurate drawing database.
  • Assist vendors in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Provide technical support to customers and the sales team.
  • Contribute innovative ideas for new products and product enhancements.
  • Develop project plans and provide regular progress updates to supervisor.
