What You’ll Be Doing In this role, design 3 phase transformers up to 10 MVA, 46 KV and following your projects through production. Your work will directly support our customers’ energy infrastructure across the U.S. and beyond. Your day-to-day may include: Reviewing customer specs and translating them into engineering requirements Identify the accessories required Prepare mechanical design e.g. tank, core and coils assembly Performing structural calculations and preparing general arrangement drawings Creating bills of materials and manufacturing documentation Collaborating with customers and internal teams to resolve technical challenges Prepare manufacturing drawings for shop. Requirements What You’ll Bring to the Role Basic Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited (4 year) U.S. college or university Proficiency with AutoCAD and 3D/2D CAD software (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks) Strong command of Microsoft Excel and ability to present technical content with PowerPoint Ability to work on-site in Washington, Missouri to support production and cross-functional collaboration Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate with varying levels of employees Ability to learn and improve processes Authorized to work in the United States Completion of: an application, talent assessment, interview, background check, and drug screen (including THC, as role will be safety-sensitive). Adaptable, curious, self-starter with a passion for continuous improvement Collaborative mindset with a team-first attitude Candidates who reside within a reasonable commuting distance to Washington, Missouri Limited regional relocation may be considered for an exceptional candidate Preferred Major in Applied Mechanics and Machine Design Work Experience of 2 years or more in design of distribution transformers. Sheet metal and welding experience Familiarity with ANSI/IEEE, NEMA, or IEC transformer standards Experience optimizing designs for manufacturability, cost, and performance
