Description:
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- You have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
- You have 5 – 8 years of experience creating well thought through mechanical fixtures for all manufacturing processes using CAD software such as Creo.
- You are familiar with leveraging rapidly iterated minimum viable product designs (MVP) to arrive at robust solutions that match the project’s design cycle maturity and requirements.
- You have the discipline to advance PFDs and FMEAs throughout the design cycle to match the maturity of the design.
- You have strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality systems.
- You have experience with process validation and quality management systems.
BONUS SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- You are familiar with automation.
- You have experience using practices such as Lean Six Sigma, D/P FMEA, Design of Experiments, Value Stream Mapping, SPC (including Mini-Tab), Kaizen, and 5S.
- You have worked in rapid iteration environments like R&D.
Responsibilities:
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will enhance or deploy manufacturing processes by integrating mechanical and systems design engineering principles. You will collaborate closely with our process owners in the Manufacturing Engineering Team, focusing on rapidly deploying mechatronic solutions to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
The incumbent will contribute to successfully delivering high-quality products, meeting customer requirements and business objectives. This will lead to world-class, high-volume manufacturing plants for Svante as we expand to meet the global demand for Carbon Dioxide capture products (Structured Adsorbent Beds – SAB).
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE
- You will develop and optimize manufacturing processes: Design, develop, and improve mechatronic solutions to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- You will create designs matching the project’s maturity using common engineering tools such as PFDs, FMEAs, gauge R&R, and CAD software.
- You will regularly evaluate the performance of mechatronic systems.
- You will propose and implement enhancements to existing systems for increased productivity and reduced downtime.
- You will conduct rigorous testing of new systems and modifications.
- You will validate system performance against design specifications and industry standards.
