Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer or Technologist ready to take your career to the next level with a rapidly growing, innovative custom trailer manufacturer? Kinetic Custom Trailers is seeking a skilled, collaborative, and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic team in Penticton, BC.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Expertise in steel fabrication processes, including cutting, forming, machining, and welding.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong understanding of design for manufacturability principles specific to steel fabrication.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented capabilities.
  • Independent self-starter with effective time management and organizational skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years in mechanical design, preferably within manufacturing or related industries.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software, specifically SolidWorks.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities
  • Prepare weight distribution summaries and verify compliance with applicable transportation regulations.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to benchmark competitors and develop innovative trailer designs.
  • Generate detailed designs and validate them using SolidWorks and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Ensure all designs comply with CMVSS/FMVSS and other relevant standards.
  • Support production teams by providing clear guidance, troubleshooting assistance, and actionable design improvements.
  • Maintain proactive and professional communication with internal stakeholders and clients.
