Description

PIPECARE Group of Companies – the leading provider of inline inspection services in Oil &Gas field - is looking for the Mechanical Design Team Leader, overseeing the design and development of mechanical hardware.
Mechanical Design Team Leader responsibilities include creating conceptual models, detailed drawings, specifications, documentation, assemblies, and user manuals. To provide support to other designers, documentation controllers, and PDM administrators.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Mobility: Must be able to walk and climb to perform duties, including maneuvering within a refinery or plant environment and accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
  • Communication: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, or other communication capabilities, to communicate effectively.
  • Focus and Multitasking: Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.
  • Safety Equipment: Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection, if/where needed in manufacturing environments.
  • Personal Mobility and Reflexes: Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform office duties and travel to off-site locations when necessary.
Responsibilities
  • Review all drawings prepared by designers to enhance quality and ensure smooth production of our products.
  • Collaborate with the team to manage and control all documents, ensuring proper records are maintained to meet standard requirements. Additionally, propose new ideas to improve this process gradually.
  • Oversee PDM implementation with the PDM administrator and design team, ensuring design files are maintained according to best practices, with complete records for every design.
  • Train and provide technical support to new designers in drawing preparation to maintain high quality standards.
  • Designs and develops the mechanical product components from concept through production.
  • Conducts design analysis and optimization of mechanical components including considerations of design-for-manufacturability and cost.
  • Selects components and materials based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
  • Utilizes computer aided engineering design and analysis software in the design and development (such as 3D modeling, FEM analysis etc.).
  • Develops mechanical design documentation including drawings, specifications etc.
  • Develops assembly manuals, procedures and instructions and may train operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Develops and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification.
  • Handles contacts with material distributors, subcontractors and manufacturers in order to create a high-quality product.
  • Keeps up-to-date with development in technologies and regulations.
  • Works in cooperation with the Production department, assisting in production startup and optimization work.
  • Participates in the equipment failure investigations.
  • Participation in external audits.
  • Ensure click up plan is under progress and provide support to meet the target dates of all the assigned tasks.
  • Report to Design Director immediately in case there is any issues which cannot be resolved.
  • Perform a physical inspection of new tools before releasing them from the UAE workshop
  • Attend the daily production meeting.
  • To provide technical support to the production team during tool fabrication and testing
  • Carries out any other related Jobs as and when required by the HOD.
