JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mechanical Designer to join our design team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating 2D/3D designs, drafting, shop drawings, and schematic/flow diagrams for our line of industrial pumps and custom pumping systems.
This role requires working on multiple projects at the same time and a strong ability to interpret and develop technical drawings and schematics.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Design
  • 1+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in pump or rotating equipment manufacturing
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks is required
  • Must be able to create 2D and 3D drawings from scratch
  • Knowledge of Autodesk software (AutoCAD, Inventor, etc.)
  • Strong ability to understand engineering schematic designs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Excellent drafting/detailing skills and design accuracy
  • Effective multitasking and time management across multiple projects
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerances, and materials
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Knowledge of PDM/PLM systems is an asset
  • Familiarity with ASME standards and GD&T is a plus
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Perform drafting of mechanical components, assemblies, and pump systems
  • Develop 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Create and revise detailed fabrication and assembly drawings
  • Prepare casting drawings from scratch based on engineering and functional requirements
  • Prepare and submit shop drawings to customers for review and approval
  • Design system schematics and flow diagrams for pumping systems
  • Understand and interpret engineering schematic designs to ensure accuracy and functionality
  • Assist in preparing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation
  • Participate in design reviews and implement feedback
  • Ensure compliance with company and industry standards
  • Maintain organized project documentation and revision control
  • Work on and manage design tasks across multiple concurrent projects
