QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Diploma/Degree from a mechanical building services/engineering program
• Demonstrable experience in Mechanical Engineering design of industrial facilities
• Knowledge of AutoCAD MEP, Micro Station, Revit, 3D software, etc.
• Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code, Plumbing Code, NFPA and ASHRAE standards and familiarity with, TSSA Fuel, industrial ventilation standards and other industrial standards
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for internal and client interaction
• Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Highly motivated with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Design and development of mechanical systems for buildings and facilities projects while ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards
• Collaborating with mechanical engineers to support the implementation of process engineering systems
• Participating in site assessments and reviews to verify the performance and functionality of mechanical systems
• Providing technical support to project teams, contractors, and clients
• Assisting in the preparation of engineering calculations, reports and specifications
• Coordinate with other engineering and architectural disciplines, and actively participate in project planning
• Design and engineer building-related systems, including HVAC, hydronics, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, controls and building automation systems
• Support the design of industrial systems such as compressed air, lubrication, and fueling systems, as well as service connections for machine installations
• Analyze heating and cooling loads using computerized methods
• Assist in the development of engineering study reports
• Facilitate the production of construction documents and construction administration for projects, and review and approve technical documentation under the supervision of a licensed engineer
• Conduct quality assurance checks, foster innovation, and drive continuous improvement within the engineering team
