PURVIS has an immediate full-time position open for a Mechanical Designer/Drafter with experience in SolidWorks, AutoCAD and PCB (printed circuit board) software. Candidate will be a member of the engineering design/drafting team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5-10 years professional experience.
• Ability to work independently and require little rework.
• Ability to review engineering drawings and understand required changes.
• Ability to work closely with Subject Matter Experts and U.S. Navy military and civilian personnel.
• Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD required.
• Knowledge of PCB software required.
• Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) required.
• Experience work with Autodesk inventor or other 3D packages is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of existing submarine systems, Military Specifications, and previous defense industry is a plus, but not required.
  Candidate must be able to obtain a government security clearance to the level of SECRET.

• Support U.S Navy system designs and development.
• Review of government furnished information (GFI) and engineering drawing redlines to incorporate into drawing packages as required.
• Review engineering drawing readlines.
• Develop 3D models by analyzing prototypes and 2D drawings.
• Create, update and maintain mechanical drawing packages using Solidworks and AutoCAD.
• Drawing packages may include production drawings, circuit card assemblies, parts list, schematic diagrams, assembly and test fixture drawings.
• Update and maintain PCB drawings using CAM 350, or equivalent programs.
• Ensure drawings comply with standards and practices.
