Position Overview The Mechanical Designer III at Aqua-Chem is responsible for the mechanical design/drafting of water treatment process equipment including, but not limited to, skid frames, pipe routing, major component placement, bill of materials and component design development Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Location: Knoxville, TN Pay Range: Dependent on Experience | $55,000 - $105,000 Salary Benefits: Group Medical, Dental Vision, 401(k) Match, Paid Vacation, Paid Holidays, and Paid Sick Time. +Employer Paid Benefits: STD, LTD, Life AD&D Essential Duties: Complete assigned design/drafting tasks accurately and on time. Perform complex drafting tasks to prepare drawings of intricately designed parts and assemblies. Generate multiple views of equipment from 3D models into 2D manufacturing drawings. Handle responsibilities with effective interpersonal skills and effectively interface with others inside and outside the engineering department. Make arithmetic computation using standard formulas when required for calculating dimensions and allowances, to meet technical specifications. Create final drawings indicating dimensions of parts, qualities of materials to be used, load capacities, etc. Check the work of other designer/drafters. Assist with Facility Acceptance Test (FAT) with walking down equipment and generating “As-built” design models/drawings Perform engineering changes and provide change notices when required. Other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor. Education/Experience: Must be a U.S. Citizen High School Diploma/GED required Able to work overtime as required Requirements: Associate degree in a designer/drafting related field (preferred) or equivalent experience. Two (2) years or more experience with design/drafting of process equipment or relevant experience. Two (2) years or more experience with design of skid-based equipment systems Experience with SolidWorks in both 3D modeling and 2D drawings. Experience with FEA computations a plus. Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, and Inventor highly desired. Experience with Autodesk Vaults a plus. Experience with reading, understanding, and generating Process & Instrument Diagrams Work requires some active physical exertion on the shop floor and detailing as built drawings.
