QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
4+ years’ work experience in Mechanical Design (HVAC & Plumbing emphasis).
Demonstrated experience working on various commercial, industrial, and/or institutional buildings.
The ability to read piping sketches, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure on various tasks.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Engineer in Training (EIT) or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) an asset.
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is an asset.

Responsibilities:

Implement the design concept through the preparation of mechanical (HVAC, Fire Protection, Plumbing and Drainage Systems) detailed design, production drawings and schematics for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Conduct heating and cooling load calculations.
Work with the project team and Project Manager to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects.
Create technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
Perform calculations, create specification, and equipment selection.
Review shop drawings to confirm they adhere to project requirements.
Consistently follow company policies, procedures, and file structures/formatting.
Perform general duties as required such as printing, plotting, scanning, conversion, quantity take-offs and measurement.
