Description

The Production Engineering Designer will be responsible for the development and preparation of engineering drawings using Creo and ensuring that drawings conform to specifications and design data. The designer will review plans and confer with managers and other employees to meet project specifications, complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets

REQUIREMENTS

  • Post Secondary education in mechanical engineering technology or Bachelor of mechanical engineering
  • Training and/or experience with Creo and Windchill PDMLink (or other Part Data Management software) a definite asset
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a related field
  • Knowledge of, or experience with the design of transport trailers would be a definite asset
  • Knowledge of engineering change procedures, ANSI drawing standards and ERP interfaces.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
Responsibilities
  • Create detailed part and assembly drawings for both steel and aluminum trailers, complete with accurate bill of materials using Creo software.
  • Update and revise current drawings through proper engineering change procedures and following proper ANSI drawing standards.
  • Interact with production personnel on drawing and design related issues
  • Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data.
  • Respond quickly to the shop floor’s needs in response to addressing issues that may surface during production regarding the manufacturing specifications, Bill of Material, etc.
  • Ensure that designs are safe, efficient, effective, and able to be manufactured.
  • Recommend improvements to current design of products.
