We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Draftsman to join our team in the aluminum and glass fabrication industry. The Draftsman will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings and plans for the fabrication of aluminum and glass structures and systems. The ideal candidate will have strong drafting skills, proficiency in CAD software, and a deep understanding of fabrication processes and building specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Associate’s degree or certification in Drafting, Engineering Design, Architecture, or a related field. Additional training or certifications in CAD software is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in drafting, ideally in the aluminum and glass fabrication or construction industry. Experience working with aluminum and glass systems is highly desirable.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other drafting software.
• Strong understanding of technical drawing conventions, symbols, and measurements.
• Knowledge of building codes and industry standards for aluminum and glass fabrication.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to understand and incorporate feedback.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Technical Drawings & Drafting: Prepare detailed drawings and plans for aluminum and glass components, structures, and systems using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit). Ensure that drawings are clear, accurate, and meet project specifications.
• Design Collaboration: Work closely with the design and engineering teams to translate concepts, sketches, and ideas into precise technical drawings. Ensure designs align with the required codes, regulations, and quality standards.
• Fabrication Support: Provide accurate and detailed drawings that facilitate the fabrication process. Ensure that all measurements, materials, and details are accurate and suitable for production.
• Revisions & Updates: Revise and update drawings based on feedback from clients, architects, or internal teams. Keep track of all changes and ensure that the final drawings reflect the most current specifications.
• Material Specifications: Accurately specify the materials needed for fabrication in the drawings, including aluminum types, glass types, fittings, and hardware, ensuring compatibility with project requirements.
• Project Documentation: Maintain and organize all project-related documentation, including drawing files, material lists, and design notes. Ensure proper archiving for future reference.
• Site Assessments: Occasionally visit fabrication sites to gather dimensions, assess project requirements, and ensure that drawings align with the site conditions and project goals.
• Quality Control: Ensure that all drawings and designs comply with industry standards and company quality control procedures. Identify and resolve potential issues in design or fabrication early in the drafting process.
• Coordination with Other Teams: Collaborate with other departments such as engineering, production, and project management to ensure designs are feasible and align with project timelines.
