As Mechanical and Electrical Apprentice at Sodexo, we’re looking for someone who keeps things running smoothly—the one who knows how to solve problems, offer expert advice, and ensure the hospital estate operates at its best. As a Mechanical and Electrical Apprentice at Royal Stoke Hospital Hospital, you’ll be the go-to expert for technical support and maintenance across equipment, building systems, and utility services.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• This is a multi- disciplinary role in health care maintenance, you will be working towards Authorised/ Competent person status.
• Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of plant, equipment, and systems across the hospital estate.
• You will be fully trained in fault diagnosis, repain and testing of electrical and and mechanical systems
• Carry out repairs, installations, and testing to a high standard, with a focus on complex systems such as Door/ Access controls, nurse call systems, BMS, Security Cameras, Emergency lighting, and Medical Gas Systems and Medical Devices, Ventilation medical gasses..
• Comply with all health and safety, hygiene, and statutory regulations, including COSHH and fire safety.
• Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and efficient environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Conduct Planned, Preventative maintenance and calibrate testing tools
• Assist with parts procurement and technical support
• Manage reactive maintenance, day and night
• Use IT systems, for Data Reporting e.g. CAFM, BMS
• Interpret technical documents and complete regulatory applications
• Maintain decontamination and water safety equipment, following safety standards
