POSITION SUMMARY:

The Mechanical / Electrical Engineer will collaborate with Janotta & Herner Architects, Engineers, Project Managers and Draftsman Along with outside Contractors to design and implement mechanical, plumbing & electrical systems for various design build projects according to code for commercial, industrial and healthcare construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed designs for mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and codes.
  • Work closely with project teams, including Architects and Structural Engineers, to integrate designs into overall project plans.
  • Ensure that all designs are completed on schedule and within budget constraints.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and existing conditions, providing input on feasibility and potential challenges when needed.
  • Perform calculations to validate design concepts and ensure optimal performance of systems.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, and reports, to support project implementation.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure that all mechanical systems are designed and installed according to specifications and regulations.
  • Review design methods, procedures and changes in scope with the lead engineer.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical / electrical design in commercial, industrial and healthcare construction.
  • Proficient in design software such as Revit and AutoCAD with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Prepare functional design documents for HVAC, Plumbing, Lighting and Electrical Distribution systems.
  • Create and modify project calculations and specifications.
  • Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Prefer individuals with dual role experience.
