Description

We are seeking a qualified and driven Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, planning, installation, and optimisation of mechanical systems and process plant equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, hands-on experience in machinery and plant operations, and the ability to collaborate across project teams to ensure cost-effective and safe mechanical solutions.
The successful candidate will work across all phases of the engineering lifecycle—from concept design through to implementation and maintenance—supporting critical infrastructure, industrial production, or building systems. Registration or licensing may be required depending on project scope and location.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (mandatory).
  • Proven experience in mechanical design, plant operations, or equipment maintenance (minimum 3–5 years preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit MEP, ANSYS, or similar).
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems, process piping, rotating equipment, or heavy mechanical installations.
  • Understanding of relevant Australian standards, building codes, and WHS requirements.
  • Strong analytical and project coordination skills.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, design, and oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical and process plant systems.
  • Design and specify mechanical components, equipment, HVAC systems, piping layouts, and production lines using engineering software and CAD tools.
  • Analyse project requirements, technical drawings, and functional documents to define system specifications and project deliverables.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis for mechanical solutions and capital improvement projects.
  • Oversee assembly and erection processes for mechanical systems, ensuring quality control, safety, and compliance with Australian standards.
  • Manage the procurement and delivery of materials, machinery, and skilled labour aligned with project timelines and resource plans.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to optimise mechanical system performance.
  • Develop and enforce installation, testing, inspection, and maintenance protocols in line with engineering and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with civil, electrical, and project engineers to ensure seamless integration of multi-disciplinary systems.
  • Provide technical input for contractor selection, tender evaluation, and vendor negotiations.
