Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Take ownership of mechanical design projects for our ACT2 pilot plant. Perfect for a graduate with at least one year of industry experience, this role lets you lead mechanical design, shape how systems come together, and see your ideas brought to life.
Work hands-on across design, installation, and optimisation, collaborating with operational and chemical teams to ensure systems run seamlessly. Every day brings the chance to innovate, tackle real-world engineering challenges, and make a tangible impact on the UK’s Net Zero journey.
Grow your technical expertise, develop leadership skills, and build the confidence to drive complex projects — all while shaping a career with real responsibility and influence.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead the mechanical design and development of systems for our ACT2 pilot plant and projects.
  • Create detailed drawings, specifications, and models using Autodesk and other design software.
  • Work closely with operational and chemical engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
  • Select, source, and manage mechanical equipment and suppliers.
  • Oversee installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
  • Support optimisation and preventive maintenance programs to maximise plant efficiency and reliability.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and feedback to foster their growth.
