QUALIFICATIONS:

• Exceptionally curious and fast learner; able to contribute across diverse part categories and manufacturing processes
• Demonstrated ability to use basic physics and logic to challenge and simplify requirements
• Hands-on and practical—comfortable building, testing, and troubleshooting in real-world environments
• Independent and creative; thrives with ownership and minimal oversight
• Experience with mechanical design, applying first-principles thinking to structural, fluid, and production constraints
• Proficient in CAD, PLM/PDM systems, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience or strong interest in designing manufacturing processes for complex components and assemblies

• Own design, prototyping, and test of new hardware
• Work with customers to understand end-use applications and challenge requirements as needed
• Take full ownership of mechanical design for flight and test hardware, including 3D modeling, detailed drawings, tolerance analysis, and material selection
• Prototype new components with manufacturability, integration, and performance as core constraints
• Define and execute validation plans including fixture design, environmental testing, and iterative design refinement
• Work closely with test and production teams to ensure new builds meet functional, thermal, and operational standards
• Manage drawing revisions, BOM structure, and part configuration in accordance with aerospace standards and internal design controls
• Redesign existing products for manufacturability
• Conduct design for manufacturability analyses on legacy aerospace and defense components and subcomponents
• Identify and implement design or process changes to reduce total material and labor costs
• Design, build, and operate any test equipment required for functional testing of prototypes to validate any design changes or manufacturing process changes
• Perform analyses to ensure updated design and processes meet or exceed quality and performance standards
• Interface with customers to understand end system requirements and ensure re-designed parts meet form, fit, and functional requirements
