As a Mechanical Engineer at ASM, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing aftermarket product value by refining designs, streamlining manufacturing processes, and reducing costs. This role is focused on achieving the ideal balance between functionality, reliability, and cost efficiency in a highly competitive, innovation-driven market. Key Responsibilities Ensure quality of aftermarket parts by collaborating closely with suppliers, resolving issues related to parts falling outside of specifications, and working with Engineering to document and implement corrective actions. Engage with customers and local account teams to address field reported issues related to aftermarket part performance and quality. Lead and implement ASM process protocols, frequently reviewing and enhancing field service solutions. Manage Continuous Improvement Projects (CIPs) and ensure clear communication across teams and with external partners. Define project scopes, generate detailed reports, and track progress against timelines. Collaborate with global teams—including technicians, engineers, procurement, manufacturing, and management—to address project-specific requirements. Deliver reliable, high-quality solutions and develop new Best-Known Methods (BKMs) for field and customer use. Travel domestically and internationally as needed (10–20%). Maintain a strong commitment to safety in all activities. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field Minimum 3 year hardware and process engineering experience within the semiconductor industry; strong understanding of semiconductor fab operations required Proficient in reviewing 3D CAD models and interpreting/redlining engineering drawings. Demonstrated ability in cross-functional communication, data analysis, and presentation; strong interpersonal skills for working with suppliers, internal teams, and customers Experience in executing Failure Analysis (FA), including planning, real-time reporting, and timely closure of corrective actions. Previous experience in Supplier Quality Control is a plus Solid understanding of materials, including metals, plastics, coatings, and finishes. Knowledge of deposition technologies (CVD, ALD, EPI, PVD) is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Pro/ENGINEER, and AutoCAD; experience with FEA and CFD analysis is preferred.
