QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years’ experience in data center mechanical systems (design, construction, or operations).
  • Proven background in procurement, vendor management, and project delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water, DX systems, cooling towers, and CRAC/CRAH units.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE TC9.9, and local building codes.
  • Experience with project management and procurement tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Data center certifications (e.g., Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer, CDCP, DCPro).
  • Knowledge of LEED, ISO 50001, and sustainability practices.
  • Experience with hyperscale or large-scale colocation facilities.
  • Exposure to advanced cooling technologies (immersion cooling, direct-to-chip, rear-door heat exchangers).
  • Understanding of high-density AI/ML data center thermal requirements.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, procurement, and delivery of critical mechanical infrastructure across our state-of-the-art data centers. This role blends technical expertise in HVAC, cooling, and mechanical systems with strong procurement and project management skills to ensure efficient, reliable, and sustainable operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, review, and optimize mechanical systems, including HVAC, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, pumps, and piping.
  • Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and energy efficiency assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with ASHRAE standards, local codes, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers, architects, and operations teams to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Develop specifications and requirements for equipment procurement.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, conduct technical bid analysis, and manage supplier relationships.
  • Oversee procurement schedules, delivery timelines, and cost negotiations.
  • Coordinate contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure timely installation and commissioning.
  • Support factory and site acceptance testing (FAT & SAT).
  • Provide ongoing engineering support for operations, capacity planning, and sustainability initiatives.
