The Opportunity
As a Mechanical Engineer at Aston, you will contribute to the delivery of building services projects from design through to documentation and construction.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing mechanical building services designs across a range of commercial projects
- Preparing detailed mechanical engineering documentation and CAD drawings
- Coordinating mechanical services with other building services disciplines
- Developing design solutions that meet project requirements, relevant standards and regulations
- Preparing engineering specifications and technical documentation
- Supporting project delivery from concept and design through to construction
- Undertaking site inspections and assisting with the administration of site activities and installations
- Attending client, consultant and project meetings as required
- Working collaboratively with architects, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders
- Supporting testing, commissioning and quality control activities
- Undertaking professional development and continuing to build your technical expertise
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in building services mechanical design
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia, or equivalent relevant industry experience
- Experience working on commercial building projects, including office fitouts
- Strong AutoCAD skills and experience producing mechanical engineering documentation
- An understanding of relevant building services standards, codes and engineering principles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a close-knit multidisciplinary team
- Strong organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- A proactive attitude and genuine interest in developing your engineering career
