Join us and help drive the future of intelligent mobility. We are looking for a talented, motivated, and skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team. In this role, you will drive design and development for automotive applications and work closely with cross-functional teams to advance AUO’s vision for innovation and excellence. As part of the team, you will: · Work with customers to develop new automotive display products as an integration mechanical designer, directly engaging with the OEM/Tier1 customer on instrument clusters, center displays and other infotainment related products. · Create internal design specifications and BOM based on internal and OEM customer requirements. · Develop and optimize mechanical designs related to integrating display unit to vehicle cockpit for various applications. · Demonstrate high proficiency in CAD software (CATIA and/or NX) to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings. Able to generate DFMEA and conduct design review, technical discussions with customer/internal design/manufacturing/quality team and suppliers. · Complete cost analysis based on material selection and manufacturing processes (injection molding, die-casting, sheet metal, etc.) to ensure performance and reliability. · Facilitate and discuss stress, thermal analysis, and other simulations based on hardware module design. · Manage CAD model/drawing data transfer to and from customer database in Teamcenter. · Use problem-solving methodologies to address product development issues. · Work independently, maintain clear and detailed engineering documentation and follow through on assignments with minimal direction. · Collaborate closely with Product, Electrical, Quality, Sales and other Cross Functional teams. · Coach junior members of the team from design and development process perspective. · Update knowledge and develop professionally. Foster an environment of continuous improvement. · Perform other related duties as required and assigned. Requirements To best succeed at this position, you will need: · Bachelor’s Degree and/or above in Mechanical Engineering. · 3+ years of automotive mechanical design experience for automotive electronic components and/or assembly design. Familiar with automotive development cycle, standards, processes, and milestone deliverables. · Extensive expertise in creating 3D modeling and 2D drawings (CATIA and/or NX) for components and assemblies is a must, familiar with tooling constraints for injection molding and die-casting components. · Proficiency in GD&T tolerance study, ability to generate DFMEA and technical design review documents, able to lead technical design review with internal and external customer. · Strong knowledge in stress simulation, thermal management and modeling, vibration, CAE interpretation, etc. · Ability to create design specifications based on customer requirements. · Strong analytical skills and hands-on experience in problem-solving methodologies. · Ability to collaborate and build relationships with customer design team and AUO team members across the globe. · To adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and timelines. · Strong knowledge of interior electronic components such as clusters and center displays. · Familiarity with TFT LCD / LTPS / AMOLED technology. · Ability to speak Mandarin language is a plus. Notes: This position requires on-site work five days per week. Because this position works closely with teams in Asia and Europe, some regular evening (or early morning) calls will be required.
