MECHANICAL ENGINEER – AUTOMATED MACHINES

Our client is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to design and support custom automated equipment from concept through customer installation. This is a hands-on, full lifecycle design role for engineers who enjoy solving complex problems and working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. • Develop mechanical designs for complex automation systems that meet customer requirements and performance standards
• Design components and assemblies using 3D solid modeling (SolidWorks or Siemens NX preferred)
• Generate detailed 2D drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing release
• Analyze tolerance stacks, stress, and load requirements to optimize system performance
• Perform peer reviews and self-checks of engineering documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Select mechanical and pneumatic components with a focus on reliability and cost-efficiency
• Provide technical support during assembly, testing, and startup of equipment
• Revise drawings and BOMs based on redlines and feedback from engineering and manufacturing teams
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Project Management, Manufacturing, and Controls Engineering
• Participate in customer reviews and provide input during installation and final acceptance
• Spend time on the shop floor verifying design intent through fit, function, and hands-on evaluation
