Description
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the analysis, design, and documentation of mechanical systems for building projects. This role includes HVAC system design, preparation of construction documents, coordination with other disciplines, technical support during construction, and participation in Property Condition Assessments (PCAs). #zr Responsibilities Design mechanical and HVAC systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards Perform engineering calculations related to heating, cooling, ventilation, and mechanical equipment selection Develop construction documents including drawings, schedules, and specifications Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing disciplines Review submittals and shop drawings for technical compliance Respond to requests for information (RFIs) during construction Conduct site visits to verify field conditions and observe installation progress Maintain project documentation and revise designs as required Evaluate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and related building systems as part of Property Condition Assessments (PCAs) Prepare PCA reports in accordance with applicable ASTM standards Coordinate with clients, internal teams, and third-party consultants for PCA and design efforts Use industry-standard engineering design and documentation software Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field Experience designing mechanical systems for buildings Working knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, and building systems Familiarity with relevant mechanical codes and standards Ability to perform independent engineering calculations Experience preparing or contributing to Property Condition Assessment (PCA) reports Proficiency with engineering design and documentation software Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with Revit or similar BIM software Experience with load calculations and energy analysis tools Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure Note: Scope of responsibility may vary based on licensure status 95% coverage of health benefits, including Medical and Dental with optional family and/or dependent enrollment paid by employee at a group rate 50% company contribution towards Vision coverage 401(k) matching program: company match 100% of your deferrals up to 3% of your compensation, plus 50% of your deferrals over 3% not exceeding 5% of your compensation 100% employer-paid Short-Term Disability with employee buy up options 100% employer paid Life Insurance Coverage with employee buy up options Paid parental leave Paid bereavement leave Holiday pay Sick pay Paid vacations Tuition reimbursement (up to $5,250 per year)
