• Working as part of a team designing moderately complex mechanical equipment, tooling and components to meet customer commitments.
• Developing design requirements and defining critical characteristics using engineering judgement, industry best practices, codes and standards, and input from subject matter experts.
• Gathering information on existing codes, standards, and bought-out items.
• Reviewing of engineering drawings, calculating clearances and fits, and tolerance stack up.
• Taking engineering responsibility for drawings, other engineering documents, and the work of those supervised.
• Leading or participating in team meetings and design reviews.
• Generating design ideas based on experience, inputting from other subject matter experts, owning area of expertise.
• Preparing design documents for complex, multi-discipline designs.
• Preparing test plans, reports, and record sheets to demonstrate compliance with design requirements.
• Guiding the work of Mechanical Laboratory Technicians and other Mechanical Engineers in test execution.
• Other duties as assigned by your manager.
