JOB SUMMARY:

The Site Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the supervision, execution, and quality assurance of all on-site mechanical works, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. The role involves direct coordination with labor teams, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure that mechanical installations are completed on time, within scope, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in site-based mechanical execution, preferably in building construction (residential, commercial, or industrial).
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical systems, installation methods, and site safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and technical documents.
  • Strong supervisory and communication skills, especially with labor teams.
  • Familiarity with testing & commissioning procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD; Revit and project planning tools are a plus.
  • Good command of English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in large-scale residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of BIM coordination is a plus.
  • Certification in electrical safety or construction supervision (e.g., PMP, OSHA) is an advantage.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day mechanical site activities, ensuring effective labor deployment and progress tracking.
  • Supervise the installation of HVAC (ducts, chillers, AHUs, FCUs), plumbing (piping, sanitary fixtures, drainage), and firefighting systems (pumps, piping, sprinklers).
  • Distribute tasks to site labor teams and monitor productivity, performance, and adherence to project schedules.
  • Ensure that all mechanical works are executed in accordance with approved shop drawings, project specifications, and local codes.
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure workmanship meets required quality and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with civil, electrical, and other MEP engineers to resolve clashes and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Enforce site safety measures and lead toolbox talks to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Track and manage material delivery and usage at site; report any shortages or discrepancies.
  • Keep detailed records of daily work progress, manpower usage, and site conditions.
  • Assist in testing and commissioning of mechanical systems and participate in system handovers.
  • Report site issues, risks, and required decisions to the Mechanical Lead or Project Manager.
  • Supervise daily mechanical site activities, including installation of HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting systems.
  • Manage and direct mechanical labor teams, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure smooth and timely execution of works.
  • Ensure all mechanical installations (ducting, piping, valves, pumps, chillers, etc.) are done according to approved drawings and specifications.
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor progress to ensure optimal labor productivity and quality of work.
  • Inspect mechanical works at different stages and coordinate necessary adjustments or corrections with workers.
  • Enforce safety procedures and conduct regular toolbox talks to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Coordinate closely with civil, electrical, and other site engineers for proper service integration.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including manpower logs, material usage, and progress updates.
  • Report site issues, delays, or material shortages to the project engineer or construction manager promptly.
