At FOSS, we develop analytical solutions that help optimize the use of agricultural resources. We are now looking for a Mechanical Engineer with deep expertise in plastic part design to join our R&D team focused on the Grain & Feed product line.

WE WILL CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AS A PLUS

  • Experience with FEA/CAE simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of injection molding and tooling design.
  • Familiarity with material selection and qualification (metals, glass, thermoplastics, elastomers).
  • Skilled in prototyping and additive manufacturing.
  • Understanding of standards and regulations (ISO, CE, food/medical compliance).
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Mechanical Engineer in our Grain & Feed segment, you will play a key role in designing and developing mechanical components - specifically molded plastic parts - for our next-generation analytical instruments. You’ll work across the full development cycle, from early concept and prototyping to final production, ensuring robust, manufacturable, and user-centered solutions.
You’ll be part of a collaborative and cross-functional team, working closely with colleagues in Business Development, Front-End Innovation, UI/UX, Supply Chain, and Production. Your work will be anchored in FOSS’ strategic roadmap and contribute directly to our mission of sustainable innovation.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS POSITION

  • Design and develop molded plastic parts for instruments used in grain and feed analysis
  • Translate user needs and high-level requirements into mechanical solutions
  • Create early prototypes and validate design concepts
  • Ensure manufacturability and robustness through tolerance analysis and design principles
  • Collaborate with toolmakers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to finalize production-ready designs
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in design processes and product quality
