Detroit Defense is seeking a Mechanical Engineer – CAD/Teamcenter to join our growing team in Metro Detroit. This entry-level role will directly support our vehicle system integration efforts by creating and updating CAD models, assisting with Teamcenter configuration and integration, and contributing to mechanical design tasks. The ideal candidate is a recent graduate or early-career engineer eager to apply engineering fundamentals in a fast-paced defense environment and grow alongside a mission-driven team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and update 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using Siemens NX. Support configuration and data management through Teamcenter. Assist in the design, documentation, and integration of mechanical subsystems. Participate in design reviews with product teams to ensure technical requirements are met. Collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines (mechanical, electrical, systems). Support the preparation of technical documentation and engineering change requests. Contribute to prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting as required. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Proficiency with Siemens NX. Familiarity with PLM systems such as Teamcenter. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team. U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
