Job Description Main Purpose of the Job: The Design Engineer works with a team of engineers and designers to develop both conceptual and detailed designs, ensuring compliance with applicable norms, codes, and standards. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Assist Engineering Package Managers in producing building calculations and reviews. Analyze and implement RFIs, SDRs, Hotline Tickets, NCRs, PFM, EI, and DN. Collaborate closely with the Integration Team. Review and approve contractor’s design documentation and surveillance activities related to their discipline. Maintain full awareness of the technical scope and allotment relevant to the discipline/interdisciplinary work. Draft correspondence and reports as required. Attend design meetings with TBs and contractors. Project Core Competences & Technical Skills: General Skills: Nuclear safety culture and ITER safety objectives. Limited knowledge of ISO 9001/19443, order 07/02/2012, and ITER framework. Application of discipline-specific processes and procedures. English proficiency at independent B2 level. Documentation culture and traceability. HSE knowledge (security control and environmental risks). Understanding engineering trades and project lifecycle. Awareness of worksite progress. Behavioral & Interpersonal Skills: Empathy and spoken communication skills. Written communication skills for drafting contractual letters and procedures. Ability to work in a team and matrix environment. Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret plans or models. Knowledge and practice of ITER codes, norms, and standards. Some skills in decision analysis tools and participation in proposal sourcing.
