At Benchtop Express we deliver world class worktops to the market. We were established in 2020 when a group of key members of the kitchen furniture industry started designing a solution for their own benchtop manufacturing requirements.

We now seek a full time Industrial Engineer to join our team.

About the role

The duties of the role will include the following:

  • Analyse production workflows and identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct process mapping, workflow analysis, and time studies.
  • Develop and implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Improve manufacturing processes for door and panel production.
  • Optimise machine utilisation
  • Improve factory layouts and material flow to increase efficiency and safety.
  • Reduce waste, rework, downtime, and non-value-added activities.
  • Reduce product handling and unnecessary warehouse movements.
  • Design and improve picking, packing, storage, and dispatch processes.
  • Improve inventory flow and material movement throughout the facility.
  • Monitor and analyse key manufacturing performance indicators
  • Prepare reports and recommendations to support operational decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process innovation.
  • Lead productivity improvement and capital equipment projects.
  • Participate in equipment selection, commissioning, and implementation.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses and evaluate project outcomes

About you

This role requires a minimum of one year of relevant work experience, with a bachelor-level qualification preferred.

The successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to:

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve operational challenges.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence.
  • Support workforce planning, capacity analysis, and effective resource utilisation.

Salary

Will be commensurate with experience and in the range of $78,000 to 82,000 + superannuation

Establishing standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection and maintenance according to engineering principles and safety regulations.
