At the Energy and Storage System (ESE) section, we are responsible for the battery solution. At our section, we are accountable for the lifecycle management of the batteries, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase. In the Service box and Ventilation group we are looking for an experienced mechanical engineer which has also developed skills in stakeholder and project management.

Responsibilities

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

At Electromobility, you will have all the advantages of Volvo Group being a large international company, but in combination with all the benefits of a tech startup. In this position, you will contribute to the battery’s electronic and electrical systems, and your focus will be to ensure in time delivery of the sub system which is called the service box. Included in that work is to ensure that the system fulfills all technical requirements along with requirements such as cost, quality, sustainability and safety. You will have the opportunity to take a list of requirements and from that create a fully tested, high quality product delivered to Volvo customers. As a GCR you ensure that all requirements and timelines are met, ensure that all component owners are aligned and know what to do. This includes contributing with defining roadmaps for service boxes designs or ventilation strategies. A GCR in the Service box and Ventilation team is a key player for driving the work into projects/integration points. Working as a GCR you need to keep a close eye on global technology developments, requirement updates and product roadmaps. Being a team player is essential in this role since you will be working with a lot of stakeholders, project leaders, suppliers, engineering teams and more.

To succeed in the role as Global Component Responsible within the Service box and Ventilation team, we believe that you have the following background:

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar
  • 8+ years of experience in similar positions
  • Experience in advanced engineering and hard tooling processes
  • Deep understanding for development processes, risk analysis, DFMEAs
  • Deep understanding in time and cost estimating
  • Experience work with CAD models, used application is CRE
