Description
Principal Purpose of the Position: •    Provides support to Manufacturing, Maintenance and Quality groups within the plant. The tasks of the position will be project-based, and focused on improving plant yield, productivity, quality and cost.     •    Responsible for supporting the plant processes for defect prevention, and improvements in quality, productivity, yield and cost reduction. •    Provides technical assistance to the various departments within the plant with analytical trouble shooting, process improvements, cost improvements, equipment upgrades and installation. •    Provides support in the purchase, modification and improvement of standard equipment. •    Provides input in cross-functional teams. •    Possesses a basic understanding of engineering/design and provides design support to more senior Engineers. •    Works with plant maintenance to update prints and parts on equipment modifications or obsolete components. •    Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned. Position Qualifications & Requirements: Education: •    Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering required. Experience: •    Zero (0) to three (3) years of experience in Mechanical Engineering. •    Experience with design of machinery and equipment. Skills and Abilities: •    Excellent analytical skills. •    Proficiency in MS Office and Microsoft Windows based programs required. •    The ability to collaborate with a multi-department team. •    Ability to communicate effectively with cross functional teams, vendors and management. •    Mechanical Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. •    Design Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. •    3D CAD experience; Knowledge of Auto Desk Inventor or Fusion 360 preferred. •    Ability to use engineering economic analysis and statistical methods for decision making. Supervisory responsibilities: None Work environment: •    Must be able to walk extensively during the workday, and stand for extended periods of time. •    Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time. •    Computer work. •    Must be physically able to meet the tasks specified in accordance with CLI requirements. Travel: Occasional; domestic.
