Lucix Corporation develops and provides cutting edge RF Electronic and Passive Components for satellite communication payloads as well as aircraft and defense programs. All hardware is designed, qualified, manufactured, tested and shipped from Lucix facilities in California.   We are looking for a motivated, hands-on, passionate individual to join our team and develop new space hardware for communication satellites.   As a Mechanical Engineer you will be creating hardware for use in space applications (geosynchronous orbit, low earth orbit, and deep space) as well as aircraft and defense programs. Must be a self-starter & team player who can take ownership of a project from design to deployment under a rapid pace.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  * Ownership of the complete product lifecycle of space hardware from initial design concept to production & unit delivery * Perform mechanical analyses (vibration, thermal, radiation) on new product designs to ensure survival to launch and on-orbit environments * Rapidly prototype & iterate on designs   Qualifications Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or institution * Experience with CAD and FEA software packages, preferably SOLIDWORKS * Solid knowledge of GD&T * Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills   Preferred Skills and Experience: * Master of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; or other engineering discipline * 1+ years of mechanical engineering experience; preferably in design and analysis of electronics/microwave packaging for space applications * Knowledge of high mix, low volume manufacturing methods, i.e. CNC manufacturing * Previous ownership of component design from concept to aerospace industry qualification and production * Rapid prototyping & design iteration * Working closely with RF engineers and proficiency with microwave assemblies * Working on mechanical design of PCAs with PCB designers (layout, thermal, vibration)
Responsibilities
