YOUR IMPACT

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with expertise in hardware development to join our dynamic team at Dedrone. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and success of our hardware products, leveraging your knowledge of mechanical design to partner effectively with cross-functional teams.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a focus on product design.
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles, including heat transfer, EMI, and shock and vibration.
  • Fundamentals in simulation tools such as SolidWorks Simulation, Ansys, or similar software for thermal and structural analysis.
  • Experience in designing products to withstand harsh environments.
  • Hands-on experience with fabrication tools, such as drills, bandsaws, and angle grinders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present complex ideas clearly.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high level of ambiguity.

Responsibilities
  • Develop fixed-site, portable, and mobile solutions, focusing on durable designs that maintain performance in various operational environments.
  • Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept through to end-of-life, ensuring designs meet requirements for mechanical stability, thermal efficiency, and overall reliability under diverse conditions.
  • Create conceptual designs for new products, considering factors that will influence cost, size, weight, and environmental ratings.
  • Validate new designs using industry standard test equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and RF engineers, system architects, and software developers.
  • Manage component and bill-of-materials (BOM) structures in PLM systems, ensuring traceability and accuracy throughout the product lifecycle.
