Description:
REQUIRED SKILLS
Education:
- BS Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent years of experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the engineering field.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required up to 10%.
- Prior experience with Starline products is a plus.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
- Experience using AutoCAD, Inventor and/or the VAULT.
- Experience with an ERP system – Syteline Preferred.
- Exceptional organizational, time management, communications, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office tools.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer satisfaction including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of project management processes and principles.
- Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing methodologies and techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize and implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) / Test (DFT) / Assembly (DFA) and Full Turnkey solutions.
- Support the engineering team tasked with the commercialization and launch of Starline designed products.
- Perform engineering design tasks and provide feedback in support of customer specific customizations of Starline products.
- Create technical documentation such as drawings, design instructions, purchasing specifications, O&M Manuals, installation instructions, work instructions and product catalogs.
- Support the integration of 3rd party products with Starline’s product offerings.
- Conduct testing required, verifying product performance, system integration and compliance with applicable standards.
- Partner with Production, Quality, and Purchasing staff to assure product manufacturability.
- Help to support improvements to Starline’s engineering information systems to ensure high quality engineering information is provided to production and other customers of this information.
- Support the automation of design tasks.
- Provide guidance to Drafters to support project goals.
- Ability to check the work of others including Drafters and Engineers.
- Jobsite support.
- Collaboration with certification laboratories such as VDE as well as various international agencies. Provide lab testing support.
- Participate in Team-based initiatives within Starline.
