Theposition activities also include working with specific or general product requirements, conducting verifications or validationactivities along the product development life cycle, and developing/documenting technical reports.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Designs mechanical components and elevator systemsWorks under general supervision, relies on limited instructions and pre-established guidelinesUses computer-assisted engineering and design software and/or other required equipment to perform assignmentsUses basic programming to configure elevator systems based on engineering documentationUnderstands and uses the A17.1 elevator code and other relevant standards as a basis for all designsMaintain/develop department owned templates, calculation sheets, and reference documentsApplies, develops, and documents application and design rules based on design intent and system limitationsSubmit Engineering Change Orders for end-to-end system change requirementsParticipate in cross-functional problem-solving activitiesWorks with other component or system engineers during product development activitiesAssists in the development of test plans and performs product development testing when neededWorks in team environment with product engineers, configurators, and other cross functional areasAdheres to all safety procedures and company safety standards while working in the lab and test towerAdheres to the corporate compliance policy and ensures that behavior in the workplace is that of a responsible professionalPerform special projects and other duties as assignedThis is a safety sensitive positionWho we are looking forEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering field5+ years of design and drafting experience is required in an architectural, structural, or mechanical design environmentDemonstrated experience of working in a team environmentDemonstrated experience in product developmentStrong knowledge of physics, motion dynamics, and mechanical engineeringKnowledge of electrical engineeringExperience working with codes and standards applied to engineering productsMust possess strong decision-making abilitiesFluent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)Experience with 2D design tools (AutoCAD preferred) and 3D CAD tools (Solidworks preferred)Must understand and be able to author basic programming logic and syntaxMust be able to work with limited instruction from manager/team leaders to meet project deadlinesElevator codes/regulations of product components 2+ years of elevator design experienceKnowledge of hydraulic and traction elevatorsWhat we offerThe final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type and years of experience within the industry, education, office location, etc.Provided they meet all eligibility requirement under the applicable plan documents, employees will be offered medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, supplemental medical plans, basic life insurance, AD&D, short term and long term disability, optional life and AD&D, optional spouse and dependent life insurance, dependent life insurance, flexible spend account, health savings account, identity theft monitoring, pet insurance, Employee Assistance Program, Wellness program, and tuition reimbursement.
