Description
Lucix Corporation develops and provides cutting edge RF Electronic and Passive Components for satellite communication payloads. All hardware is designed, qualified, manufactured, tested and shipped from Lucix facilities in California. We are looking for a motivated, hands-on, passionate individual to develop new space hardware for communication satellites.   We are actively seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to join our Mechanical Engineering team.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  * In this position, you will own the complete lifecycle of space hardware from initial electrical/RF design concept to production & unit delivery * Perform mechanical analyses (vibration, thermal, radiation) on new product designs to ensure survival to launch and on-orbit environments * Rapidly prototype & iterate on designs   Qualifications Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or institution * 3–5 years of industry experience with mechanical or electromechanical design, analysis, and/or manufacturing * Experience with CAD and FEA software packages, preferably SolidWorks * Solid knowledge of GD&T * Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills   Preferred Skills and Experience: * Master’s of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; or other engineering discipline * 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience; preferably in design and analysis of electronics/microwave packaging for space applications * Knowledge of high mix, low volume manufacturing methods, i.e. CNC manufacturing * Previous ownership of component design from concept to aerospace industry qualification and production * Rapid prototyping & design iteration * Working closely with RF engineers and proficiency with microwave assemblies * Working on mechanical design of PCAs with PCB designers (layout, thermal, vibration)
Responsibilities
Own the complete lifecycle of space hardware from initial design concept to production and unit delivery. Perform critical mechanical analyses including vibration, thermal, and radiation to ensure survival in launch and on-orbit environments.
