Role Overview Design, prototype, and deliver the electromechanical systems that let our Neo move, grasp, and last. From junior to staff, own subsystems end-to-end: concept → detail design → test → iterate →volume production. Design mechanical parts and electromechanical subsystems (frames, limbs, joints, power transmission systems, etc) Perform structural FEA to reach optimum stiffness to weight ratio and achieve our fatigue life criteria Select and integrate motors, sensors, PCBAs, cabling… DFx: manufacturability, assembly, cost, serviceability Build and break prototypes, iterate quickly Must-Have BS/MS Mechanical Engineering CAD software fluency Strong fundamentals of structural mechanics Hands-on prototyping skills Structural FEA and G&T experience Has shipped at least 1 product 2+ years experience Extensive bearing selection experience Nice-to-Have Robotics or consumer hardware volume production Ansys, injection molding, die casting, machining Bearing selection experience Benefits & Compensation Salary Range: $125,950 - $160,500 + Equity Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Equal Opportunity Employer 1X is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
