Responsibilities Our newest opportunity is for a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our team based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role involves supervising mechanical works to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, local authority regulations, quality standards, and project timelines. The Mechanical Engineer will coordinate closely with contractors, subcontractors, authorities, and other discipline engineers to ensure successful project delivery. We envisage success in this role to include; Supervise and monitor all mechanical works on site, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, pump stations, and other infrastructure-related mechanical systems. Ensure mechanical installations are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and applicable standards. Review and approve contractor submissions such as shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical calculations. Conduct regular site inspections, identify non-conformities, and issue site instructions and NCRs when required. Ensure compliance with Dubai local authority requirements, including Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Civil Defense, RTA, and other relevant authorities. Monitor quality control procedures and ensure proper inspection, testing, commissioning, and performance verification of mechanical systems. Ensure compliance with project health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements at all times. Witness mechanical testing, commissioning, and system performance activities. Coordinate with civil, electrical, and other discipline engineers to resolve technical and interface issues. Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives on all mechanical-related matters. Attend site meetings, progress meetings, and technical coordination meetings as required. Monitor construction progress against the approved schedule and report delays or risks related to mechanical works. Review and verify contractor progress claims and completed works for mechanical activities. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly site reports related to mechanical works. Assist in snagging, de-snagging, testing, commissioning, and final handover activities. Review and verify as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and handover documentation. Qualifications To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 12 years of work experience partnered with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Relevant experience in Dubai-based Infrastructure construction projects. Previous experience working with a consultancy in a supervision role is essential. Must have prior experience in Dubai and must have strong knowledge of Dubai codes and regulations. Strong communication, reporting, and site management skills.
