Job Description Global Modernizations team supports Konecranes frontline units in engineered modernizations for bridge/ Electric Overhead Travelling (EOT) cranes. These solutions are built on Konecranes’ proven technology and expertise. We're excited to strengthen our mechanical engineering expertise and are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our team! This role is based in Hyvinkää, Finland. To help you get off to a great start, we expect working from the office daily during the onboarding and learning phase. Once you're settled in, there may be an opportunity to shift to a hybrid work model, depending on the needs of the role and team. Your key responsibilities In this role, your main task is to support our frontline sales units by creating technical solutions and pricing to fulfil our customers’ needs. You'll work on some really interesting challenges - calculating and selecting motors, gears, inverters, and other key components that bring crane modernizations to life. You'll collaborate with our supplier partners and create functional systems that deliver real value. You'll work with a diverse range of products and customers across exciting industrial segments including Steel Mills, Paper Mills, Automotive Plants, Power Plants, and more. Qualifications What you should bring Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or similar 2-5+ years of experience working in mechanical engineering, ideally with heavy hardware, designing moving mechanical machines Experience in mechanical and structural dimensioning, component selection, and finding solutions to mechanical challenges is a strong asset Fluent Finnish and English; German skills are a plus Customer service attitude – we never let customers down Readiness for occasional business travel You’ll thrive in this role if you’re a structured thinker who enjoys planning and organizing your work. A hands-on, problem-solving mindset will be especially valuable—whether you're navigating older or less detailed technical documentation or troubleshooting unexpected challenges.
