Kuipers Engineering Pty Ltd are a local Fire and Emergency vehicle manufacturer with a long history and now with access to the global resources of our parent company Naffco.
We are based in South Windsor NSW and supply vehicles to emergency response agencies across Australia.

Established over 50 years ago, Kuipers Engineering is a flexible and dynamic manufacturer of specialised vehicle fleets including Fire, Rescue, Police, Health Clinics and other specialist vehicles.
Kuipers is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Naffco combining our local knowledge, manufacturing and support with their Global R&D resources to provide world leading solutions customised to the Australian environment.
We are looking for a full-time Mechanical Engineer to join our team.
As a degree qualified Mechanical Engineer, you will join other Mechatronic and Manufacturing engineers to support the Design, Prototype and Production of Fire and Emergency vehicles. You will enjoy working in teams with mixed backgrounds and experience.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE
· Relevant bachelor degree or higher qualification
· Minimum of 3 years industry experience
· Experience using the SolidWorks CAD software
· Experience working to the Australian Design Rules or NFPA guidelines
· Experience with heavy vehicle design
REQUIRED SKILLS
· 3D modelling and drafting in Creo or Solid Works
· Some 3D FEA analysis in an industry setting
· Electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic design an advantage
The salary for this position is $80,000 per annum plus superannuation

· Plan, assist, manage and sign-off mechanical engineering projects and documentation, from the research and development, concept, modeling, detailed design and post design stage, for all types of mechanical equipment and components required by the business.
· Preparation of mechanical engineering models, calculations, drawings, designs, and specifications which are fit for purpose, practical, cost effective to manufacture, comply with relevant design and regulatory standards, and comply with OHS and Quality Control requirements.
· Management and preparation of Bills of Materials, Bills of Quantities, and routings.
· Assist in the preparation of quotations and Tenders.
· Specifying and sourcing of specialist components as required (including materials, piping, etc.).
· Preparation of User Manuals and reports, incorporating diagrams and photographs as required.
· Preparation and implementation of Test Plans.
· Document all production design and process engineering changes.
· Keep abreast of advances and innovations in the engineering and manufacturing industry by self-education and staff training.
· Implement, participate and promote Quality Assurance and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) objectives, processes and procedures of Kuipers Engineering to ensure adequate standards and policies.
· Provide input into improving engineering and manufacturing operations, processes, procedures and utilising resources to ensure business efficiency.
· Work closely with the Workshop team to provide engineering advice and to solve issues throughout manufacturing, assist in determining responsibilities of staff
· Adopt continuous learning and improvement processes in all aspects of the position.
· Manage, supervise, train and develop the Draftsperson reporting to this position.
· Review and checking of drawings, models and information prepared by the Draftsperson reporting to this position.
· Provide regular project reviews and reporting to the Engineering Manager.
· Liaise with customers, suppliers and consultants as required.
· Assist with stock takes.
