About the Role: The Mechanical Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring that heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems meet rigorous quality and safety standards throughout the design, manufacturing, and installation phases. This position is responsible for developing and implementing quality control procedures that guarantee system reliability, efficiency, and compliance with industry codes and regulations. The engineer will collaborate closely with design teams, contractors, and suppliers to identify potential issues early and drive continuous improvement initiatives. By conducting thorough inspections, testing, and audits, the engineer ensures that all HVAC components perform optimally and meet client expectations. Ultimately, this role safeguards the integrity of HVAC projects, contributing to sustainable and high-performing building environments across the United States. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. * Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC system design, quality control, or mechanical engineering. * Strong knowledge of HVAC codes, standards, and regulations such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, and local building codes. * Experience with quality management systems and inspection/testing methodologies. * Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Preferred Qualifications: * Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification. * Experience with VRF/VRV systems (e.g., DVM S, DVM S2, or similar platforms)  * Background working with an HVAC manufacturer or in product support engineering  * Experience with HVAC commissioning and performance testing. * Familiarity with industry software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or HVAC-specific design and analysis tools. * Lean Six Sigma or other quality improvement certifications. * Previous experience working on large-scale commercial or industrial HVAC projects. Responsibilities: * Develop, implement, and maintain quality control protocols for HVAC mechanical systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications. * Conduct detailed inspections and testing of HVAC components and systems during manufacturing and installation phases to identify defects or deviations. * Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and contractors to resolve quality issues and recommend corrective actions. * Review technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test reports, to verify accuracy and completeness. * Lead root cause analysis investigations for quality failures and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence. * Monitor supplier performance and conduct audits to ensure materials and components meet quality requirements. * Prepare comprehensive quality reports and communicate findings to stakeholders to support decision-making. * Stay current with industry trends, codes, and regulations to continuously enhance quality control processes. Skills: The required skills enable the engineer to rigorously evaluate HVAC systems through detailed inspections and testing, ensuring compliance with technical standards and project requirements. Proficiency in interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications allows for accurate identification of potential quality issues and effective communication with design and construction teams. Knowledge of industry codes and regulations ensures that all quality control activities align with legal and safety standards. Preferred skills such as commissioning experience and familiarity with design software enhance the engineer’s ability to validate system performance and contribute to design improvements.
