POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and continuous operation of all mechanical systems (HVAC, Kitchen equipment, refrigeration, laundry and all related equipment) within the Pan Pacific Hotel. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The key responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineer Level 4 include, but are not limited to: * Executes preventative program for all mechanical systems (HVAC, Kitchen equipment, refrigeration, laundry and all related equipment).  * Maintain the continuous operation of all mechanical systems. * Identifies and conducts any unscheduled maintenance.  * Reviews the Shift Engineer’s log and completes follow-up work as required.  * Investigate any work orders pertaining to mechanical systems. * Identify and report problems that require follow-up. * Maintains parts inventory  * Manages and commissions preventative work orders. * Perform other related duties as required COMPETENCY PROFILE                                     * MAINTAIN THE HIGHEST STANDARD OF PROFESSIONALISM, ETHICS, GROOMING AND ATTITUDE TOWARDS GUESTS, CLIENTS AND OTHER ASSOCIATES  * SELF-MOTIVATED AND ABLE TO COMPLETE RESPONSIBILITIES IN A TIMELY MANNER WITH LITTLE OR NO SUPERVISION  * STRONG OBSERVATIONAL SKILLS AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL; ABILITY TO PRIORITIZE  * CANDIDATE MUST HAVE DEMONSTRATED EXCELLENT ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS AND BE ABLE TO WORK EFFECTIVELY UNDER PRESSURE WITH MINIMAL SUPERVISION  * BE PROACTIVE IN RECOMMENDING RELIABILITY UPGRADES AND PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENTS TO MECHANICAL SYSTEMS  * MAINTAIN PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS CONFIDENTIALITY AS REQUIRED SELECTION CRITERIA QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE  * ONE TO THREE (1-3) YEARS’ PREVIOUS MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE EXPERIENCE (HOTEL EXPERIENCE AN ASSET).  * Class 4 / Level 4 Power Engineer Certificate. * THOROUGH KNOWLEDGE OF ALL MECHANICAL SYSTEMS IN THE HOTEL (HVAC SYSTEMS, FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS, DDC, ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS AND RELATED EQUIPMENT). * MUST HAVE ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL TROUBLESHOOTING SKILLS AND ABILITY.  * PNEUMATIC CONTROLS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. * KNOWLEDGE OF SAFETY AND EMERGENCY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES, INCLUDING WHMIS AND LOCKOUT.  * AUTOMATION SYSTEM (DDC) EXPERIENCE REQUIRED, ABLE TO ANALYZE AND ADJUST SYSTEM CONTROLS.  * COMPETENT IN THE USE OF HAND AND POWER TOOLS; COMPETENT IN THE USE OF ENGINEERING INSTRUMENTS AND TESTERS.  * WELDING AND SOLDERING SKILLS ARE AN ASSET.  * EXCELLENT ORAL & WRITTEN COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS.  * COMPUTER SKILLS - DEMONSTRATED ABILITY WITH MICROSOFT OFFICE SUITE
