Description We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and detail mechanical components, systems, and complete machines from concept through field installation. This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity, functionality, and manufacturability of designs while supporting prototype builds, production, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience with 3D CAD design (SolidWorks), creating detailed drawings and BOMs, supporting prototype builds, developing assembly documentation, and managing engineering change orders. This position works with manufacturing, vendors, and customers to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions. Responsibilities: Function as a mechanical design engineer for custom automated assembly machinery/equipment. Design accuracy and quality of the final detailed part drawings. Create parts, assemblies and detail drawings under the direction of project engineers. Maintains accuracy of machine documentation necessary for manufacturing release. This includes but is not limited to: Bills of Material, Part Drawings, Assembly Drawings, Schematics (Air, Lube, Drive, Hydraulic) and Layout Drawings. Provide engineering technical support for assembly and debug of machinery. Work with the production department to develop and improve manufacturing processes Requirements design-to-schedule and team-oriented design skills A basic knowledge of industry best practices, tools and technologies as well as common machine shop techniques. Must have an entrepreneurial attitude, a "what ever it takes" mindset to get assigned tasks completed accurately and on time. Capable of designing mechanisms and machine components from sketches or verbal concepts. Thorough knowledge of drafting principles per ANSI-Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing. Proficient in SolidWorks Knowledge in the use of electrical devices (i.e. sensors, switches, load cells, servo motors, DC motors and drives, LVDT's, etc.). Skilled in the application and implementation of pneumatic actuators, solenoid valves, vacuum generators, etc. Capable of taking direction and following through with assigned tasks. Able to work with other engineers, designers and drafters in a project environment. May be responsible for work of designers, designer drafters, and detailers in the work group. Must possess good written and verbal communications skills and work well within a dynamic professional team. Education Bachelors Degree or higher within technical field preferred (BSME/MSME) OR 2-3 years equivalent years of experience in the design of automated assembly equipment.
