FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS OR TRAINING:

Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related field

- Chartered or working towards chartership (IMechE or similar)
- Experience designing mechanical handling systems (not including cranes/hoists)
- Nuclear, defence, or regulated industry background preferred
- Familiar with substantiation and assurance processes

Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll support the design, assurance, and integration of mechanical handling systems such as trolleys and transfer ports for a key UK nuclear facility.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Designing and reviewing mechanical handling systems (e.g. trolleys, transfer ports)

- Ensuring safety, operability, and compliance through robust engineering input
- Supporting system integration with adjacent equipment and processes
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders
- Contributing to design substantiation and assurance documentation
