JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer that specializes in HVAC Medical Gas and Air Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the engineering design, oversight, inspection, and commissioning of medical gas systems in compliance with CSA Z7396.1:22 and relevant engineering standards. Familiarity with the Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC) authentication requirements is essential.
Experience in hospital infrastructure, marine vessels, and mining installations is considered a significant asset, along with knowledge of Transport Canada and other statutory authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Design & Compliance: Design and validate medical gas pipeline systems in accordance with CSA Z7396.1:22 and applicable provincial/federal codes.
  • Engineering Authentication: Prepare and authenticate engineering documents as per EGBC guidelines.
  • Installation & Commissioning: Oversee and/or conduct installation, testing, verification, and commissioning of gas and air systems in healthcare and industrial environments.
  • Engineering Oversight: Provide senior-level engineering oversight of all aspects of medical gas and air system design, risk analysis, and regulatory compliance.
  • Inspection & Auditing: Conduct site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with CSA, EGBC, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities adhere to safety codes, industry best practices, and internal safety protocols. Promote a culture of safety across all project phases, identifying potential hazards and implementing preventive measures in line with CSA and Transport Canada guidelines.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate engineering reports, drawings, and compliance documentation.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, and civil disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Client Interaction: Interface with healthcare professionals, facility managers, and marine/mining project leads to assess needs and recommend safe, compliant solutions.
